Monte Nudo is a nice, walkable, not too high mountain, emerging from the shore of Lago Maggiore in Lombardy, Italy. On a wonderful morning I ascended to see one of the first ferries crossing to Verbania from Laveno-Mombello. Going through the woods, views to the part of the lake stretching to the north became visible, and further, an even wider panorama. It is this duality of the place the was captivating: the small detail of the woods and the open space together. Finally, a peek to the furthest north part of the water showed itself, towards its end in Locarno, in complete serenity.
